Prayers for New Year's Discerners

Please pray for discerners considering an application to the the 2013 posutlancy class. About eight of them gather at St. Conrad Friary in Milwaukee, which houses the Midwest Capuchin Postulancy Program, January 1-5, 2013. The dates are chosen because many students are finished with family visits over Christmas and have yet to return to school for the second semester. The Discovering Postulancy event has a simple format. Participants shadow the current postulants, doing whatever they do. In the midst of all the news about the General Chapter in Rome, I wish to take a moment to mark the beginning of a new postulancy class. We can thank the marvels of the Internet for this capability! The new postulants arrived in Milwaukee last Sunday and are in orientation for two weeks.The Midwest Province of St. Joseph begins this year with 6 postulants. Six men become Capuchin Postulants at an August 26th Eucharist at St. Martin de Porres Church on the corner of Burleigh and Second Streets in Milwaukee. Capuchins in temporary vows will drive up from Chicago to renew their vows for another year during the same Eucharist.
