Thursday of the 12th Week in Ordinary Time Earlier today the Supreme Court of the United States in a 4-4 tie upheld a lower court injunction stopping implementation of the Deferred Action for Parents of Americans and Lawful Permanent Residents (DAPA). Six Candidates and Inquirers gathered at St. Conrad Friary in Milwaukee on New Year's Day to Discover Postulancy. This yearly event allows those considering an application to the next postulancy class to learn first-hand what the day-to-day life of a postulant is like. Arriving on New Year's day evening, the participants got the full experience starting the next morning. On August 4th, Bros. Tien Dinh and Tom Nguyen professed their perpetual vows as Capuchins at St. Lawrence Seminary in Mt. Calvary, Wisconsin. Both graduated from SLS before joining the Capuchins.Attendees included family and friends from Tien's home town near New Orleans and Tom's near Houston as well as SLS classmates and friends from the Chicago area where the two have lived for six and seven years.Red, the festive color in Vietnamese culture, filled the sanctuary. First Profession of Vows in Milwaukee this Saturday

Three Midwest Capuchins who recently completed their novitiate will profess their first vows as Capuchins this Saturday, July 28th, at St. Francis Parish in Milwaukee.Jerry Cornish, Robert Wotypka, and Jason Salisbury completed a year of postulancy at St. Conrad Friary in Milwaukee 2010-2011, and then their novitiate at San Lorenzo Novitiate in Santa Ynez CA this past year.All three have been transferred to St. Clare of Assisi Friary in Chicago which houses the province's postnovitiate program.
