2017 Triduum Retreat
January 17, 2017
Celebrate the Paschal Triduum with Candidates, Volunteers and Capuchin Friars!
On April 13 through April 15, join us as we celebrate Holy Thursday, Good Friday and Easter through prayer, fraternal sharing and input.
As the time of Lent approaches, we find ourselves looking forward to the joy of the Easter Season, and with it, the annual Easter Triduum Retreat at St. Lawrence Seminary in Mt. Calvary, Wisconsin. This event, the final event of the 2016-2017 vocation year, is a staple of Capuchin formation in the Province of St. Joseph. Friars in formation, members of our lay volunteer corps, Cap Corps, and many of our inquirers and candidates will gather in Mt. Calvary on the evening of April 13, Holy Thursday, to celebrate the Mass of the Lord’s Supper with the students in their impressive Student’s Chapel. Various liturgies will be held throughout the Triduum, culminating with the Easter Vigil on Saturday night. On Easter Sunday morning everyone will go forward from Mt. Calvary, returning home renewed in the Lord.
Another hallmark of the Triduum Retreat is always the lecture series, where an expert in their field is invited to address those gathered at St. Lawrence, to contribute to their lived experience of the death and resurrection of Jesus Christ. This year we are blessed to welcome Br. Helmut Ratkowski, OFM Cap, of the Pontifical Council for Promoting the New Evangelization.
Candidates and Inquirers are highly encouraged to consider attending the Easter Triduum Retreat, but they must contact Br. Steve Kropp, Vocation Director for the Capuchin Province of St. Joseph, in order to attend. Br. Steve can be reached by phone at 313-378-3802, by email at firstname.lastname@example.org or by filling out the inquiry form on this website. We hope to see you there!
